Luxembourg Wedding: The Norwegian Royals

Royal Hats Most of the Norwegian Royal Family also attended this wedding. Queen Sonja looked great in a large woven cream pillbox (that would have looked even better without the droopy side netting trim) and matching cream suit.

Crown Princess Mette-Marit must be confused about what actually constitutes a hat or a fascinator because she showed up with a navy headband. It might be a fancy headband but that doesn’t change the reality that it’s still a headband. She wore it back in May this year for King Herald and Queen Sonja’s 75th birthdays (which was a more informal outdoor celebration) and I think this headgear is best saved for more informal events.

Princess Martha Louise, who is infamous for some of her past zany fashion, was the belle of the ball in the gorgeous “Lumos” hat designed by Silvia Fletcher for Lock & Co. in grey. I understand that many would consider this hat more than a little unusual but it looked astounding on her and I absolutely loved it!

  1. Queen Sophia’s dress is making me dizzy with the lines going every which way! Her hat’s netting is sad and that is all I am going to say. I liked MM’s dress. Since I am writing about this year’s after the fact and she has gone for these headbands a lot lately. I have heard she suffers from migraines and hats cause these horrible headaches I will give her a pass. Martha Louise look is one of the best I have ever seen on her even with that little fedora shape in the middle of her hat. 🙂
