  1. You raise a good point TiarasRUs says: July 1, 2015 at 5:46 am, and thanks for the link. The Day Three hat looks like a reincarnation of a previous hat, and is at least as good, and I like the 2012 outfit better. However, it was a good style for Ladies’ Day. The Day One hat was a good hat for the Ascot Opening Day, dramatic, and brand new. The Day Two hat was also new. Overall though, I do think that she will get more wear in future out of the Day Three hat. The first two are more dramatic hats, more suited to races and other major events. I do love this trio of hats.

  2. I still maintain that the best hat this year is the one worn by Sophie Wessex on day 3. It is an ideal hat for the races, wide brimmed, feminine, classic Southern belle, and memorable!
Second best was the one worn by Sophie Wessex on day 1. It was very architectural, made her look taller, and was just right with this dress.
Third best hat goes to Zara Phillips Tindall on day 4. I like the hat and dress in blue and white. It emphasises her blue eyes, it is elegant, but it still has a sense of fun.
Fourth best hat here is the one worn by Sophie Wessex on day 2. It is a good statement hat for Ascot, but it isn’t as memorable as her other two efforts.
Fifth best hat of this group is Princess Beatrice’s hat. I normally don’t like hats with a different colour of crown and brim, but here it actually works. It could have gone wrong if it wasn’t worn with that simple white dress. I agree with what was critiqued by Royal Hats on the day: ‘I adore this hat! I love the contrast between the traditional shape and the modern colour blocking and love that while it is completely unembellished, it is anything but boring! Hats at Ladies’ Day are famous for being trimmed to death (or into complete absurdity) and I adore that Princess Beatrice caught everyone’s eye today with this very streamlined piece.’
Sixth choice was the Queen’s hat. It was a good hat, but this shade of yellow was not awfully attractive for the Queen, and the light shining through the partially transparent brim gave a rather brassy yellow vibe to her white hair. She didn’t bring anything really interesting to the table this year.

  3. Because I waxed long and lyrical about The Queen’s yellow hat I shall vote accordingly, my close second being The Countess of Wessex on day 2- the soft white crin hat with the grey twills. Thanks for the fun.

  4. The fact that Sophie Wessex’s three hats all make the top six shows that both she and we have impeccable good taste! This half dozen is a very good bunch. Apart from Sophie’s trio, each of the other three was my favourite for the person wearing it.

  5. What are the rules please HatQueen? Are people allowed to vote more than once? If so perhaps some people who have more time on their hands might stack the vote?

  6. I always enjoy your polls HatQueen and thanks again for your great Royal Ascot coverage. My favorite hat was the Countess of Wessex’s pale grey lattice picture hat on Day 3, but I thought all her hats were the top three for me. These hats that reached the poll finale were all in my top ten for the meet.

    • I agree with what TiarasRUs says: June 30, 2015 at 1:01 pm. For me on Day One, Day Two, and Day Three, Sophie the Countess of Wessex wore Ascot appropriate hats. They were all large, interesting, and her outfits and accessorized here just right. Her hat hair was perfect for complimenting all three hats. It is hard to choose between them, but I think Day Three has the slight edge.
