  1. I would think that an event such as the Chelsea Flower Show would be a PERFECT occasion for a beautiful hat, being outdoors and such. The best we get now (and not this week!) is some netty thing. Why? Too low-profile of an outing, perhaps?

  2. I was surfing the web a few days ago and I stumbled across this photo and remember that I loved this hat and would love to see it again but I realize that today’s royals would never wear this. I wonder where this hat is now or if it still exists. Is there a hat recycler out there who takes bits and pieces from old hats for reuse?

  3. I usually do not like the hats from the past but this one hits all the right notes! The blue and green together look fantastic! How nice to be able to talk to someone who looks like they are thrilled to be able to talk to you! What a gift the Queen mum had to make people feel special!

  4. I like it, the craftsmanship is great, although the shape itself has aged of course, lovely hat and she simply beams in this photo, wonderful

  5. This is absolutely beautiful! I’m biased because green and blue are two of my favorite colors, but I also think this wider halo shape helps make it unique and just perfect for the Queen Mum.

  6. I saw the Queen Mother several times. What an amazing engaging woman she was. Thank you for the wonderful memory.

  7. Glorious being the word! That was in the early days of the typical Queen Mum halo shape, when she still mixed it up a bit shape wise (well, only a bit; feathers, veils, bows, fur have were always a big hit!)

She looks fabulous and always looked like she was having the absolute time of her life.
