  1. Alexandra Knatchbull, Lord and Lady Brabourne’s daughter, was escorted down the aisle by the Prince of Wales, who is doubly related to her through two lines of descent from Queen Victoria. The prince is Alexandra’s second cousin once removed on his father’s, the Duke of Edinburgh’s side, and her fourth cousin once removed on his mother’s, Queen Elizabeth’s side. They all share descent from Queen Victoria, the bride’s stemming from her great grandfather, Lord Mountbatten. The bride’s family is in the line of succession (if rather far down the list), and they are members of the extended royal family. Agreed, HatQueen: royal. (Lord Brabourne’s family has the additional interesting distinction of descent from Fanny [Austen] Knight, Miss Jane Austen’s favorite niece.)

  2. It’s fun when the veteran royals are in form, isn’t it? Princesses Astrid and Alexandra are particular standouts this month.

  3. Lady Bradboune’s hat is nice, but unfortunately it is way too big for the size of her small head.

  4. I love just about all of these hats. I really like Princess Astrid of Norway’s hat. I think she looks so lovely in it.

    • June was a fantastic month for hats, wasn’t it?! Putting this post together, I had to remind myself that this group was in addition to the hats for Ascot and Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday.
