While we didn’t see many new royal hats debut in October, there were a handful of great designs from which we can choose a favourite. Six new hats stood out in particular, shown below in the order they were worn. Click on each picture or its caption below to jump back to original posts with additional photos and information on each hat:
Queen Mathilde’s autumn leaf trimmed casque by Fabienne Delvigne worn in Japan, Oct 11
Queen Mathilde’s red straw and silk percher hat by Fabienne Delvigne worn in Japan on Oct 13
Empress Michiko’s cream silk saucer with rose trim worn in Kyoto on Oct 25
Update- I completely forgot about this sixth hat which also received high praise:
Princess Eugenie’s blue braided pillbox hat designed by Juliette Botterill worn to commemorate the end of slavery, Oct 13
Voting will remain open until next Friday, December 23 at midnight GMT and each computer or mobile device can vote twice per day for as many hats as you wish. For added suspense, results will not be visible until the poll closes. Good luck!
