Duchess of Cornwall Attends Sandhurst Sovereign’s Parade

The Duchess of Cornwall attended The Sovereign’s Parade at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst this morning, the first time she has represented the Queen at the annual event that marks the passing out of Officer Cadets on completion of their Commissioning Course. For this event, Camilla repeated her black wool hat with ruched crown and faux fur brim. While not my favourite black hat in her wardrobe, it’s a very sensible choice for this outdoor event and no doubt did the job of keeping the Duchess warm. The faux fur brim coordinates well with the cuffs and collar on Camilla’s coat and the addition of a military brooch to the crown makes the hat all the more suited to this event.

We’ve seen this ensemble on Camilla before- any thoughts on this hat’s outing today?

  1. I really don’t like this hat – it looks like a hat that’s OK for dashing out to the supermarket in the cold and wet or to choir practice but not for an event like this at Sandhurst. The coat also looks as if it’s seen better days or maybe it’s the way the sleeves have been set in.

Either way she has much nicer clothes and hats in her wardrobe that would have looked better for this engagement,

  2. I think this is a good look for her and especially for the event. I like the hat with the coat and boots, and the decoration on the coat seems to give a nod to the military.

  3. Excellent look overall. Not suitable for many occasions, the hat looks perfect for this coat at an outdoor ceremony.
What, however, are the white doilies hanging out of her cuffs? Is she wearing a ruffled white blouse?

  4. This hat makes sense for this event, unlike some other times when she has worn it. A very polished look that isn’t overdone. Hope we see something spectacular on her for Christmas!
