Finnish State Visit To Sweden

On Thursday, the Swedish king and queen welcomed the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, and Mrs. Suzanne Innes-Stubb on a state visit. For this welcome and first day of events, Queen Silvia repeated a pink jacquard covered circular headpiece with open crown.

Crown Princess Victoria wore a custom bandeau headpiece with ends that extend, curling around the back of her head. One side has a sequinned felt and feather that tucked behind her right ear. See a picture of the headpiece here.

King Carl Gustav and Queen Silvia kicked off the first of 21 visits celebrating the King’s Golden Jubilee this year yesterday to Södermanland County. Queen Silvia wore a cozy faux fur brimmed hat while King Carl Gustav wore a sharp black felt fedora.

The combination of flora of the four nations of the UK – the rose of England, the thistle of Scotland, the daffodil of Wales and the shamrock of Northern Ireland –  to form the shape of St Edward’s Crown on the official coronation logo released yesterday is so fittingly beautiful.

Swedish State Visit To Jordan

Earlier this month, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia paid a state visit to Jordan. For their arrival in Amman on November 15,  Queen Silvia wore a new fuchsia silk covered pillbox hat with flat bow at the back.

On its own, the hat’s classic shape is contrasted well with it’s bright hue. I’m not a fan of shiny fabrics on hats (for me, matte is more sophisticated!) and the rest of ensemble…. well, I’ll pass on that.
