Zara Phillips and her husband Mike Tindall attended the first day of races at the Cheltenham Festival in the heart of Gloucestershire today. Zara wore a stunning royal purple velvet pillbox-beret trimmed with a pair of large feathers and a few faux jewels. Designed by Jane Taylor, this “Aura” style hat is certainly a statement hat and I absolutely loved it. What do you think?

Well, it’s not the worst hat she’s ever worn. It’s too flashy for my taste but it looks like her (her style, I mean). And she looks happy in it.
I really believe this hat would work well – no – even better without the feathers, but leave the silver brooch.
Zara’s hats are always made by Philip Treacy. This one is beautiful.
Zara’s last few major hats have been made by Karen Henriksen.
