Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi and his wife Saida were welcomed by the Swedish Royal Family this week for the first state visit paid by the country since 1963. For their arrival on Tuesday, Queen Silvia repeated the moulded white calot hat she first wore for the opening of Swedish parliament this year. The photo below shows a better view of the back trim on the hat which consists of a pearl studded white silk flower and several leaves made of brown feathers.

Crown Princess Victoria repeated her navy ruffled flower and leaf fascinator trimmed with navy feathers. While the height and sense of movement in this piece did balance her sleek coat, I don’t think it was the right choice for this ensemble and I found myself wishing, yet again, for Victoria to invest in a cream hat or two to pull out for these kinds of events.

Yesterday, Princess Victoria showed her continued love for black and white hair bows with the début of a new piece (her third by my count). While this headpiece does a great job of tying together her white coat and black accessories, it’s still a little twee for my liking.

Previously Worn: This piece is new
What did you think of the hats and headpieces worn this week in Sweden?

I think Queen Silvia’s calots work so well with her hairstyle, and this one is no exception. I like the simple trim. Crown Princess Victoria’s headpieces are too twee for a lady of her age and status, and she looks much better in larger, regular hats.
like all of them, could wear them as well
Did CP Victoria always used to wear these tiny ‘hat’ pieces? Wonder what made her decide to wear these tiny pieces….
I think they are sweet! Very classy.
No one wears a calot like Silvia! And this one is fabulous. As for Victoria, a agree, although her hair is much prettier in these photos, the fascinator are underwhelming, and she would do well to buy some “ral hats”. Her mother could give Her great advice.
