The following new millinery designs caught my eye this week:

Dusty pink felt button percher with stunning oversize silk flower from Rachel Trevor Morgan
Beautifully detailed hatband on this navy oversize fedora from British milliner Jess Collett
Charming pink, black and white straw boater from American brand Lifted Millinery
Dark, moody red picture hat with flying bow and open weave brim from British milliner Juliette Botterill
Lovely movement on the soaring slim quills trimming this Fabienne Delvigne saucer hat
Classic navy wool hat with beautifully crisp knotted silk hatband from California based Jill Courtemanche
From Stephen Jones, whose creativity knows no bounds – hammer head shark and lamb chop headpieces

And this wonderfully chic is this two-toned felt fedora from German milliner Nicki Marquardt.

  1. I wanted to add a comment to this older post — I finally had the opportunity to watch the documentary “The Coronation” and it is wonderful. For viewers in the US who get their TV through cable, if you have an “On Demand” section that includes the Smithsonian channel, that is where I found it. About half of the documentary is about the coronation itself and the other half about the history of the crown jewels. It was fascinating to discover that HM had never watched any of the film or video taken of the coronation in all these years and also to see her reviewing the crowns in such a practical way — one particular gem on the Imperial Crown, for example, is her favorite because that’s how she knows which way is the front! Also, in response to the question “what were Charles and Anne doing at the palace while you were being crowned?” she replied, “Well I don’t know, I wasn’t there.” I love it! Anyway, it’s very good, so if you can still find it on your television service wherever you are, you should watch it!

  2. I like the red picture hat.

  3. I adore all the hats that caught your eye this week except that hammerhead shark one and the land chop one. It is creative, but I am not sure who or where one would want to wear those atrocities on their head!! Since I don’t get the Smithsonian channel I can’t wait till the queen’s documentary on the coronation is available some other way. I would love to see it! Princess Philomena d’Orleans hat is quite stunning for a funeral and Charlotte and the twins are adorable!
